Words Create Reality
Whatever format I'm working in, harnessing the power of words is an essential part of my work.
Our thoughts are often diffuse, unconscious, preconscious, or repressed. By putting our thoughts into words – and writing them down or visualising them – we can look at them with a helpful distance and ask: “Is this good for me?” Below are a few inspirations and thought-provoking ideas…
“Writing means reading oneself.”
Max Frisch“We don't see things as they are, but as we are.”
Anaïs Nin“The problem is not the problem. The problem is how we deal with the problem.”
Virginia Satir“Anyone who knows a why for their life is helped, more than anything else, to overcome outer difficulties and inner suffering.”
Viktor Frankl“I don't have to put up with everything from myself either.”
Viktor Frankl“My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened.”
Montaigne“No one can convince another person to change. Everyone has a door to change that can only be opened from the inside.”
Virginia Satir“Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway.”
John Wayne“A human being is only fully human when at play.”
Friedrich Schiller“Our purpose is to recognise opposites correctly – first as opposites, and then as poles of a unity.”
Hermann Hesse“One day, baby, we'll be old, and think about the stories, we could have told.”
Song lyric“Humour is the button that keeps us from losing our temper.”
Joachim Ringelnatz“When I know what I feel, I also know what is good for me.”
Sybille Paas“Time we take for ourselves is time that gives something back to us.”
Ernst Ferstl“Go forth, my heart, and seek delight.”
Paul Gerhardt“Grieving is the solution – not the problem.”
Chris Paul“I make the world the way I like it.”
Pippi Longstocking“Life is not easy, life is not perfect – life is good.”
Bert & John Jacobs“Name it to tame it.”
Unknown“Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing it is stupid.”
Albert Einstein“Laughter is to the soul what oxygen is to the lungs.”
Louis de Funès“Paths are made by walking.”
Franz Kafka“Knowing what our strengths are is the most important thing an individual can know about himself or herself.”
Peter F. DruckerMy View of People
- Every person carries their own happiness within them – regardless of background, education, marital status or age.
- Every person is absolutely unique.
- Every person can make the world a little more humane.
Going to Sleep
Now weary of the day,
My yearning gladly takes
The friendly, starlit night
As a tired child it wakes.
Hands, leave aside all toil,
Mind, forget all you have planned,
All my senses now
Long to sink into slumber's hand.
And my unguarded soul
Would soar on freest wing,
To live, within night's magic ring,
Deeply, and a thousandfold.
Hermann Hesse
If these thoughts resonate with you, and you feel that now might be a good time for change – I look forward to hearing from you.
